Carinda is famed as being the location of David Bowie’s single ‘Let’s Dance’, with tourists travelling to the small outback town to re-enact scenes from the 1983 music video. Locals have embraced the connection and leverage the attention by hosting an annual ‘Let's Dance Carinda’ festival. The influx of visitors during the October long weekend festival is warmly welcomed by the local business owners. These include the Carinda Hotel, a fuel station, post office, and the beloved Far West Store which offers coffee, light meals and loads of locally made treasures.
